9.5 Server-side Includes

The server-side include feature allows you to dynamically include information in your HTML documents -- each time the document is accessed, the document accesses gateway (or other) programs and includes the program output inline with the document

And how do you do that? Well, I have a detailed description in my book... but why wait (or pay ;-) ) for that, when linking to elsewhere is the "web" thing to do -- There is very useful and complete on-line documentation at NCSA that describes the server-side includes feature. There is also a short, reasonable description at the WWW FAQ, at http://www.boutell.com/faq/sinclude.htm. Both are clear and easy to follow, while the former has a number of useful examples.
